Nothing on this site is complicated, but the questions that reach the contact queue repeat enough that it is worth writing the process down once.
The search box at the top of the home page queries the library as you type and shows matches immediately. It matches on title, publisher, category and tags, so a partial name or a general term both work. If you would rather browse, the all software page lists everything by download count and the category pages narrow that down.
Every entry page carries the same structure. The bar under the title has the version, publisher, archive size, when it was last refreshed and the download count. Below that, the overview describes what the software actually does, the feature list is specific rather than promotional, and the requirements table is what it needs rather than what a marketing page claimed.
The installation notes are the section worth reading twice. They are written by whoever tested the release on a clean machine and they cover the specific things that go wrong with that specific package, which is usually an older version still being installed, a driver older than the release, or a security suite interfering mid setup.
Every entry is served from four independent mirrors and the panel beside the download button shows the current state of each. If one is slow for you, another may not be, since routes vary by region and by hour. A mirror that fails two consecutive checks is pulled automatically, so what you see in the panel is current rather than aspirational.
Several entries in the library are very large, and on an unreliable connection a single stream can fail repeatedly. A download manager that segments transfers and resumes cleanly makes a real difference on those, and there is one listed in the downloaders category.
Report it on the contact page with the entry title and the version string from the release details table. That is enough for the checker to reproduce the problem, which is the difference between a report handled the same day and one that sits waiting for a follow up question.
