Overview
Resolve started as a colour grading system and grew into the only application that credibly does the entire post pipeline in one place. The page structure makes that explicit: Media for ingest, Cut and Edit for two different editing philosophies, Fusion for node based compositing, Color for grading, Fairlight for audio mixing, and Deliver for output. Nothing is round tripped, because nothing leaves.
The Color page is still the reason professionals reach for it. Node based grading with unlimited nodes, primary and secondary correction, curves, qualifiers, power windows with tracking, HDR grading tools, colour management through the DaVinci Wide Gamut pipeline, and support for the panel hardware that colourists actually use. Shot matching across a scene, still stores for reference, and a gallery that survives between projects.
The Studio tier is what this build unlocks, and the difference is substantial: the full neural engine feature set including magic mask, depth map generation, super scale upscaling, face refinement, object removal and speed warp retiming, plus temporal and spatial noise reduction, film grain, lens effects, HDR scopes, multi user collaboration and unrestricted output resolution and frame rate.
Fusion brings a genuine node compositor into the same application, with 3D space, particles, planar tracking and paint. Fairlight brings a full mixing console with buses, VCA groups, ADR tools and immersive audio formats. For a small post house, the practical value is that one licence covers roles that used to need three separate applications and an export in between each.

Installation Notes
- Update your graphics driver before installing. More Resolve problems trace back to an old driver than to anything else.
- Create a project database on a fast local drive rather than working from the default location on a slow disk.
- Optimised media and render cache settings are per project. Set them once per project rather than expecting a global default.
Before You Start
Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.
There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.
Frequently Asked
Noise reduction, the neural engine feature set, HDR tools, unrestricted resolution and frame rate, collaboration and a long list of effects.
This build does not. It runs as Studio without activation hardware.
For a great deal of work, yes. That is the design intent, all pages operate on the same timeline with no export between them.
