Overview
Movavi Video Editor is built around the assumption that you want to be finished, not to learn an application. Footage goes on a timeline, clips are trimmed by dragging their edges, transitions are dropped between them, a title is typed in, and an export preset produces a file. Everything past that is optional, which is precisely why people who edit twice a year keep coming back to it.
Underneath the simple surface there is more capability than the interface admits. Multiple video and audio tracks, picture in picture and overlay layers, chroma key with spill control, speed adjustment with smooth interpolation, stabilisation for handheld footage, motion tracking for attaching text to a moving subject, and keyframable animation on position, scale and opacity.
Audio handling covers what home and small business projects need. Noise removal on recorded speech, normalisation, fade and volume curves drawn directly on the waveform, beat detection for cutting to music, voiceover recording straight into the timeline, and an audio ducking option that drops the music under narration automatically instead of requiring keyframes by hand.
The Plus edition includes the whole bundled library rather than teasing it: transitions, animated titles, callouts, stickers, filters, colour presets, background music beds and sound effects, all installed locally so they work without a connection. Export presets cover the common devices and platforms, with manual control over codec, bitrate, resolution and frame rate for anyone who wants it.

Installation Notes
- Install the full effects library during setup, adding packs afterwards is slower than taking them in one pass.
- Set the project resolution and frame rate before importing so clips are not conformed on the fly.
- Use hardware encoding for exports unless you see artefacts, in which case switch to software for the final render.
Before You Start
Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.
There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.
Frequently Asked
Very little. The timeline is drag and drop and the export presets remove every codec decision if you want them to.
No. Everything installs locally during setup and works offline afterwards.
Yes, with enough memory and a reasonable GPU. Proxy style preview quality reduction is available for weaker machines.
