Overview

The whole point of this one is that it fits on a screen. There is no installer, no menu tree and no sequence of decisions to work through. The executable opens, detects what edition of Windows is on the machine and what Office generation is installed, and shows a single button that does the appropriate thing. For the large number of people who simply want the yellow warning gone from a fresh install, that is the entire interaction.

Underneath the simple face there is a proper set of methods. The automatic route picks whichever approach suits the detected edition. The manual side exposes each method separately for anyone who has a reason to prefer one: a management service style route aimed at the volume editions, a firmware based route for machines whose hardware already carries an embedded entitlement, and a key management route for the older generations that expect it. Each one reports what it did rather than flashing a success dialog and closing.

Coverage is deliberately wide because the tool is aimed at machines nobody has looked at in years. The desktop editions across several Windows generations are handled, the server editions are handled, and the Office suites are covered from the older perpetual releases through the current ones. Where an edition is genuinely unsupported it says so on the screen instead of running and failing silently, which is more than a lot of tooling in this category manages.

There are maintenance functions alongside the main button. A detailed status view shows the licence state of the system and of each Office application rather than the single summary line the settings page offers. There is a backup and restore function for the activation state, useful before a major upgrade, and a clean removal function that reverses anything the tool previously set up. Nothing is installed to the system, nothing runs after the window closes, and the executable can live on a maintenance stick.

Installation Notes

  • Run it as administrator. Without elevation the interface opens but every method fails on permissions.
  • Take the backup before a major system upgrade so the state can be restored afterwards without rerunning anything.
  • Security suites often flag this whole category on classification rather than behaviour. Expect a prompt.

Before You Start

Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.

There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.

If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.

Frequently Asked

Does it install anything?

No. It is a single executable that makes its change and exits. Nothing stays running.

Which button should I press?

The automatic one unless you have a specific reason otherwise. It picks the method that matches the detected edition.

Can I undo it?

Yes. The removal function reverses what the tool set up and the status view confirms the result.
