Overview
SPSS is the statistics package that social science, medical research and market research settled on decades ago, and the reason is that it does not require you to write code to run a test. The data sits in a spreadsheet style editor with a separate variable view for types, labels, measurement levels and missing value definitions, and every analysis is a menu item with a dialog rather than a function call.
That accessibility is paired with reproducibility, which is the part people miss. Every dialog can paste its equivalent syntax into a script window instead of running immediately, so an analysis built by clicking becomes a text file that can be rerun, reviewed, versioned and shared. A colleague can reproduce a result exactly without watching you repeat the clicks, which is what makes it defensible in published work.
The test coverage is broad: descriptive statistics, means comparison, correlation and regression across linear, logistic, ordinal and nonlinear forms, analysis of variance including repeated measures and mixed models, factor and cluster analysis, discriminant analysis, survival analysis, nonparametric tests, reliability analysis and complex sample handling. Output goes to a viewer where tables and charts can be edited, restyled and exported without rerunning the analysis.
Data handling covers the unglamorous part of the work, which is most of it. Import from spreadsheets, delimited text, databases and other statistical formats, then restructure between wide and long, merge and aggregate files, split by group, weight cases, recode into new variables, compute derived measures and identify duplicates. This build enables the full module set rather than the base package alone, so the advanced, regression, custom tables, missing values and bootstrapping modules are all present.
Key Features
- Spreadsheet style data editor with a separate variable view for types, labels and measurement levels
- Menu driven analysis for every test with no coding required
- Syntax pasting from any dialog for reproducible, shareable and versionable analysis scripts
- Descriptive statistics, means comparison, correlation and the full regression family
- Analysis of variance including repeated measures, mixed and general linear models
- Factor, cluster, discriminant, survival and nonparametric procedures
- Custom tables for building publication ready cross tabulations
- Missing value analysis with multiple imputation and bootstrapping
- Data restructuring, merging, aggregation, weighting, recoding and duplicate detection
- Output viewer with editable, restylable tables and charts and export to document formats
What Changed in This Build
- Interim fix pack rollup addressing accumulated defects across procedures

Installation Notes
- Define variable types, labels and measurement levels before analysing. Half the confusing output people report comes from a measurement level set wrong.
- Paste syntax rather than running from the dialog when the work will be published, it is the only way to reproduce a result exactly later.
- Save the output viewer file separately from the data file, they are independent and losing one does not recover the other.
Before You Start
Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.
There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.
Frequently Asked
No. Every procedure has a dialog. Syntax is optional, and useful mainly for reproducing an analysis later.
Yes. This build enables the full module set rather than the base package alone.
Files with hundreds of thousands of cases are routine. Memory is the practical limit rather than any hard cap.
