Overview

Touch typing is one of the few skills where a structured course genuinely beats practice, because self taught typing sets bad finger habits that get harder to unlearn the more you type. This is a full graded course rather than a game: home row first, then rows and reaches introduced in a deliberate order, each stage locked until the previous one is at an acceptable speed and accuracy.

The lessons themselves are short and repetitive by design, with a visual keyboard showing which finger belongs on which key and live feedback on errors as they happen rather than at the end. Speed and accuracy are tracked per lesson and per key, and the reporting shows exactly which keys and which combinations are costing you, which is far more actionable than a single overall figure.

Adaptive drills are built from that data. Rather than drilling a fixed exercise, the software generates practice material weighted towards your specific weak keys and awkward transitions, so time is spent on the problems you actually have. As those improve the material shifts, and the drill set changes with your progress rather than staying static.

Beyond the course there are timed tests with graded text at several difficulty levels, a set of typing games for practice that does not feel like practice, specialised courses for the number pad and for speed building beyond basic competence, and a background analysis that watches your real typing across ordinary applications and folds those statistics into the same reporting.

• Short daily sessions beat long occasional ones by a wide margin for this particular skill.
• Resist looking at the keyboard even when it slows you down at first, the whole point is unlearning that habit.
