Overview

This is the smallest tool in this part of the catalog and the one that does the least, which is the entire design goal. It is one executable, it presents one window with a short row of buttons, and it applies a permanent digital licence to the Windows installation it is run on. There is no installer, no service, no tray icon and nothing scheduled to run later.

The digital approach is what separates this from the older key management style tools. Rather than pointing the machine at a local key server that has to be reachable every so often, it registers a hardware bound digital entitlement against the installation. Once applied, the state survives a restart, a cumulative update and a feature update, and it survives a reinstall of the same edition on the same hardware without running the tool again.

The interface is deliberately blunt. A status line reports the current edition and licence state, one button applies the licence, one removes it again, and one opens a detailed information view showing the edition identifier, the channel and the current state as the system reports it. Everything the tool does is visible from that window, and the log pane records each step as it runs so nothing happens silently.

Edition handling is automatic. The tool reads the installed edition, matches it to the correct entitlement and applies that, which means Home, Professional, Education and the enterprise and long term servicing editions are all covered without a manual selection. Both the current Windows 10 servicing branch and the current Windows 11 releases are supported, in both architectures.

  • Both 32-bit and 64-bit systems handled by the same executable
  • Detailed information view showing edition, channel and current state
  • Live log pane recording every step as it is performed
  • Removal option that returns the installation to its previous state
  • No background service, tray icon or scheduled task created
  • Survives restarts, cumulative updates and feature updates

What Changed in This Build

Installation Notes

  • Run it as administrator. Without elevated rights the buttons are visible but the operation will not complete.
  • Let your security software know about the executable before running it, tools in this category are routinely flagged on behaviour alone.
  • Take a restore point first if the machine matters to you. The operation is reversible from inside the tool, but a restore point costs nothing.

Before You Start

Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.

There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.

If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.

Frequently Asked

Does it need to keep running?

No. It applies the state and closes. Nothing is left resident, scheduled or installed.

Will a feature update undo it?

No. The digital entitlement is bound to the hardware and installation, so it carries across cumulative and feature updates.

Can it be undone?

Yes. The removal option in the same window returns the installation to the state it was in beforehand.
