Overview

The Lite edition is the design suite with the weight removed. The vector illustration application and the photo editing application are both here in full, and what has been stripped out is the bulk: the enormous clipart and template libraries, the font collections, the tracing engine's optional model data and the secondary utilities. The result installs in a fraction of the time and space and runs comfortably on machines the full suite struggles on.

The illustration application is the same drawing engine that the suite is known for. Beziers, live shapes, node editing, envelopes, blends, contours, transparency, mesh fills, the shape builder, the boundary and weld operations, and a colour engine that handles global swatches, spot colours and separations. Multi page documents, layers, guides and object management are all present, which means a real job can be produced here rather than only sketches.

The photo editing application handles the raster half. Layers with masks, adjustment tools with curves and levels, healing and cloning, cutout tools for extracting a subject, filters and effects, colour management and output at print resolution. It reads the common raster formats and the raw formats from most camera bodies, so photographic material can be prepared without a second application.

The trade off is content rather than capability. Everything you can draw in the full suite you can draw here, but you start with an empty asset panel instead of thousands of bundled illustrations, and the type collection is whatever is already installed on the machine. For anyone who works with their own assets and client supplied fonts, which describes most professional work, that trade is close to free.

Installation Notes

• Install the fonts you need yourself, this edition does not bundle a type collection.
• Files saved here open in the full suite and the other way round, so mixed teams are not a problem.
• If you need the tracing engine's higher quality modes, that content is part of the full suite rather than this edition.

Before You Start

Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.

There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
