Overview
AutoCAD Architecture is standard AutoCAD with an architectural object layer on top of it, and that layer is the entire point. A wall drawn here is a wall, not two parallel lines. It knows its own thickness, its material composition, its height, how it should clean up where it meets another wall, and how it should appear differently in plan, section and elevation.
Because the objects are real, the drawing carries information that would otherwise live only in someone's head. Doors and windows cut their own openings and move with the wall they sit in. Stairs and railings recalculate when a floor height changes. Roofs follow the walls beneath them. Spaces measure their own area and update when a wall moves, and schedules of doors, windows, rooms and finishes generate from the model and stay current rather than being retyped after every revision.
Everything underneath is still AutoCAD, which is why practices adopt it without retraining anyone. The command line works exactly as it always has, standard drawings open normally, external references, layer standards, plot styles, sheet sets and dynamic blocks all behave as expected, and a file can be exported to plain AutoCAD objects for anyone downstream who does not have the toolset installed.
The supporting content is substantial: an extensive library of architectural components covering doors, windows, openings, structural members, fixtures and fittings, all parametric and all editable into office standards. Documentation tools cover elevations and sections generated from the model, detail components with a large keynote library, dimensioning that understands architectural objects, and display configurations that show the same model at the right level of detail for each drawing scale.
Key Features
- Walls, doors, windows, stairs, railings and roofs as real parametric objects
- Automatic wall cleanup at intersections with material composition preserved
- Spaces that measure their own area and update as the layout changes
- Schedules of doors, windows, rooms and finishes generated from the model
- Elevations and sections generated from the model and updated on change
- Extensive parametric component library editable into office standards
- Display configurations showing the correct level of detail per drawing scale
- Detail components with a large keynote library for construction documentation
- Full standard AutoCAD command line, external references, sheet sets and dynamic blocks
- Export to plain AutoCAD objects for collaborators without the toolset
What Changed in This Build
- Faster performance on very large drawings with many architectural objects

Installation Notes
- Set up your office layer standards and display configurations before starting a project, since retrofitting them onto a drawing in progress is slow.
- Export to plain AutoCAD objects when sending drawings to consultants without the toolset, otherwise the objects arrive as unhelpful proxies.
- Use a certified graphics driver. Viewport regeneration on large architectural models is sensitive to driver behaviour.
Before You Start
Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.
There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.
Frequently Asked
No. It is a documentation focused toolset. Full coordinated building modelling with structure and services belongs in a dedicated modelling application.
Yes, but architectural objects appear as proxies unless you export them to plain objects first.
Yes. It is AutoCAD underneath, so the command line, references and plotting all behave identically.
