Overview
Blender covers more of the 3D pipeline than any other single application, and it does it without a licence server, a seat count or a term limit. Modelling, sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, texture painting, rigging, animation, physics simulation, particle and hair systems, two production renderers, a node compositor and a video sequence editor all live in the same program, operating on the same scene.
The modelling toolset is mature and fast. Edit mode with the full complement of extrude, bevel, loop cut, knife, inset and bridge operations, a modifier stack that stays live until you decide to apply it, geometry nodes for procedural construction that can rebuild an entire asset from parameters, and a sculpt mode with dynamic topology and multiresolution for detail work that would collapse a polygon budget any other way.
Rendering runs through two engines. Cycles is the path tracer, physically based, GPU accelerated across the common vendor stacks, with adaptive sampling, light tree importance sampling and an open image denoiser pass that makes low sample previews usable. EEVEE is the rasteriser, near real time, and in this generation close enough to the path traced result that a great deal of work never needs to leave it.
Animation and simulation round out the package. Armatures with inverse kinematics and constraints, shape keys, the non linear action editor, grease pencil for 2D drawing directly in 3D space, cloth and soft body simulation, rigid body dynamics, fluid and smoke solvers, and a particle system with hair grooming. The video sequencer at the end of the chain handles cutting the rendered result together without a separate editor.
Key Features
- Full modelling toolset with a live modifier stack and procedural geometry nodes
- Sculpting with dynamic topology, multiresolution and a complete brush set
- UV unwrapping, texture painting and a shader node editor for material authoring
- Cycles path traced renderer with GPU acceleration, adaptive sampling and denoising
- EEVEE rasterised renderer for near real time look development and final frames
- Rigging with armatures, inverse kinematics, constraints, drivers and shape keys
- Animation through dope sheet, graph editor and the non linear action editor
- Physics for cloth, soft body, rigid body, fluid, smoke and particles with hair grooming
- Grease pencil for 2D animation drawn directly inside the 3D scene
- Node compositor and a video sequence editor for finishing inside the same application
What Changed in This Build
- Geometry nodes gain a rebuilt evaluation path that is considerably faster on dense setups
- Cycles light sampling improved, cutting noise on interiors at the same sample count
- EEVEE shadow and volumetric quality brought closer to the path traced result
- Sculpt mode performance improved on very high polygon meshes

Installation Notes
- Set the GPU compute device in preferences after install, the default falls back to CPU rendering on a fresh profile.
- Simulation caches are written next to the project file by default. Point them at a drive with room before running a long bake.
- Add ons ship disabled. Enable the importers and exporters you need once rather than hunting for a missing format later.
Before You Start
Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.
There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.
Frequently Asked
No. Output belongs to whoever made it and there is no restriction on commercial use.
EEVEE for speed and look development, Cycles when you need physically accurate light. Both read the same materials in this generation.
Yes, going back many generations. Files are forward converted on open and the original is untouched.
