Overview
The core of what a tunnel client does is simple: it encrypts everything leaving the machine and sends it to a server somewhere else, which then talks to the internet on your behalf. What separates one from another is how many places that server can be, how fast the path is, and how the client behaves when something goes wrong. This one is generally strong on all three.
Server coverage spans a wide set of countries and regions with multiple locations in the larger ones, and the client picks the fastest by testing rather than by guessing from a list. Protocol selection is automatic by default and manual when you want it, covering the modern lightweight protocol, the established open protocol in both transport modes, and a fallback that survives networks which block the obvious ports.
The safety behaviour is the part worth checking in any client. A kill switch blocks all traffic if the tunnel drops rather than silently letting it out unencrypted, and it engages during reconnection as well as on failure. Leak protection covers name resolution, address version leakage and the browser features that can reveal a real address around a tunnel, and the client resolves names through its own resolvers inside the tunnel rather than using whatever the local network offered.
Split tunnelling decides per application whether traffic goes through the tunnel or around it, which matters when a banking application objects to a foreign address or a local device on your own network needs reaching directly. Around that, the client supports launching on startup with an automatic connect, connecting on untrusted networks only, and sharing a tunnelled connection from one machine to others.
Key Features
- Encrypted tunnelling with servers across a wide set of countries and regions
- Automatic fastest server selection by live testing rather than by list order
- Multiple protocols including a modern lightweight one and established open protocols
- Fallback transport for networks that block the usual ports
- Kill switch blocking all traffic on tunnel failure and during reconnection
- Leak protection covering name resolution, address version and browser leakage
- Name resolution through the client's own resolvers inside the tunnel
- Split tunnelling deciding per application whether traffic is tunnelled
- Automatic connection on startup or only on untrusted networks
- Connection sharing from one machine to other devices on the same network
What Changed in This Build
- Faster reconnection after a network change or a sleep resume
- Improved throughput on the modern lightweight protocol
- Split tunnelling rules now survive an application update path change
- Lower idle resource use while connected

Installation Notes
- Leave the kill switch on. A tunnel that fails open is worse than no tunnel because you will not notice.
- Add local network devices to split tunnelling if printers and network storage stop responding while connected.
- Try the alternative protocols if throughput is poor on a particular network, the difference can be substantial.
Before You Start
Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.
There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.
Frequently Asked
Some overhead is unavoidable, but on a good path the loss is small. Server distance matters more than protocol choice.
By default yes. Split tunnelling lets specific applications bypass it deliberately.
The kill switch blocks traffic entirely until it reconnects, so nothing leaves unencrypted.
