Overview
Lumion exists because architectural rendering used to take days. You import a model, drop it into a scene, place trees and people and cars, set the sun angle and the weather, and see a near final image immediately rather than after an overnight render. The feedback loop is the product.
Import comes from the packages architects actually use, with live sync plugins for the common modellers so a change in the model appears in the render scene without a manual re import. Materials are assigned from a large library and respond to weather and light automatically, so glass reflects, water moves, and foliage responds to wind without being animated by hand.
The Pro content library is enormous and it is what sells the tier: thousands of models covering trees and plants by species and season, people both static and animated, vehicles, street furniture, interior furnishing, lighting fixtures and materials with proper physical response. A scene that looks populated rather than empty is the difference between a render a client believes and one they do not.
Output covers everything a presentation needs. Still images at print resolution, animations along camera paths with effects layered per clip, panoramas for a virtual walkthrough link, and the effect stack that handles sky, sun study, volumetric light, depth of field, reflections, colour grading and the sketch and painterly styles for early stage presentation where photoreal would be misleading.
Key Features
- Real time rendering with near final quality in the viewport
- Live sync plugins for the common architectural modelling packages
- Content library of thousands of models: plants by species and season, people, vehicles, furnishing and lighting
- Materials with physical response to weather, light and time of day
- Sun study with accurate positioning by location and time
- Weather, wind, rain, snow, fog and volumetric lighting effects
- Animation along camera paths with per clip effect layering
- Panorama output for shareable walkthrough links
- Sketch, watercolour and painterly styles for early stage presentation
- Still image output at print resolution with depth and material passes
What Changed in This Build
- Improved ray traced reflection quality at interactive frame rates
- New content added across vegetation, interior furnishing and lighting
- Faster import on very large models with many materials
- Camera path editing reworked with smoother interpolation

Installation Notes
- The content library is the bulk of the install size. Install it to a fast drive, loading scenes from a mechanical disk is painfully slow.
- Check your GPU VRAM before starting. This is the one requirement that genuinely blocks the application rather than merely slowing it.
- Install the live sync plugin from within Lumion after the modelling package is already installed, not before.
Before You Start
Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.
There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.
If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.
Frequently Asked
The common architectural ones, through both file import and live sync plugins where available. Neutral formats like FBX, DAE, OBJ and SKP are also supported.
The content library. Thousands of high quality models and materials ship with the Pro tier rather than streaming on demand.
Yes, more than almost anything else in this catalog. VRAM is the binding constraint for large scenes.
