Overview

VirtualDJ replaced turntables for a very large share of working performers, and the Pro Infinity tier is the one without restrictions: unlimited decks, every controller mapping, video mixing, broadcasting and the full effect set. The interface can run as two decks for a simple set or four and beyond for layered work, and the skin system means the layout can be reshaped to match whatever hardware is on the table.

The library is built for collections that outgrew a folder structure years ago. Automatic analysis extracts tempo, key, waveform and loudness on import, tags are editable in bulk, smart folders filter by rule, and the search returns results from a hundred thousand track collection as fast as you can type. History, played markers and a sideview queue keep a long set organised without leaving the performance view.

Real time stem separation is the feature that changed sets most. Any track can be split into vocals, instruments, bass and drums live, with no preprocessing, which makes acapella swaps, instrumental beds and on the fly mashups possible from an unprepared library. Combined with key detection and pitch independent tempo shifting, two tracks that were never meant to sit together can be made to.

Around the mixing core sits everything a working set needs: beat aware effects and loops, sampler pads with triggered one shots and loops, automatic beat matching that can be overridden at any moment, recording of the full set, broadcasting to a stream, karaoke handling with lyric display, and video mixing with transitions and effects for screens behind the booth. Controller support covers hundreds of devices with mappings that load on connection.

Key Features

  • Unlimited decks with a reshapeable skin system for two, four or more deck layouts
  • Real time stem separation into vocals, instruments, bass and drums with no preprocessing
  • Automatic tempo, key and loudness analysis with pitch independent time stretching
  • Library built for very large collections with rule based smart folders and instant search
  • Beat aware effects, loop rolls, hot cues and slicer with per deck control
  • Sampler pads for one shots, loops and stacked triggered content
  • Automatic beat matching and sync that can be overridden manually at any point
  • Video mixing with transitions and effects for screen output behind the booth
  • Karaoke support with lyric display and dedicated track handling
  • Set recording and live broadcasting with configurable stream quality

What Changed in This Build

  • Improved stem separation quality on dense mixes and low bitrate sources
  • Faster library analysis when importing very large collections
  • New effect and transition packs bundled with the install
  • Better handling of controllers connected after the application has started

Installation Notes

  • Let the initial library analysis finish before a set rather than during one, analysis competes with the audio thread for cores.
  • Configure your booth and master outputs before the first performance, the default single output routing is not what you want on a real system.
  • Connect controllers before launching so the mapping loads cleanly, hot plugging works but occasionally needs a rescan.

Before You Start

Read the notes above before running setup. Most of the problems people write in about are covered there, and almost all of them come down to an older version of the same software still being installed, a graphics driver that predates the release, or a security suite quarantining part of the package mid install.

There is no archive password on this or any other entry in the library. If something you downloaded elsewhere claims to come from here and asks for one, it did not come from here. Nothing on this site is behind a survey, a shortener or a countdown either.

If the entry does not match what the page describes, say so on the contact page and include the version string from the release details table. Reports naming a specific version get checked first because the checker can reproduce them straight away.

Frequently Asked

Does stem separation need preprocessing?

No. It runs live on any loaded track, though a machine with more cores holds up better when several decks use it at once.

How large a library can it handle?

Collections in the hundreds of thousands are normal. The index and search are built for that scale rather than for a folder of favourites.

Is my controller supported?

Several hundred devices have built in mappings that load on connection, and anything else can be mapped manually through the controller editor.
